Frequently Asked Questions.

Why are you called “MMBR”?

We are called MMBR—pronounced “Member”—because our products all have one thing in common: helping creators of all kinds to get closer to their customers, fans, followers or supporters. We manage membership so that—depending on the product you use—you can easily protect web content, charge for subscriptions, receive donations or just stay close to your audience.

How long has MMBR.IO been around?

We've been around for a while. We were originally called "World Web Pass" and later “Paywallz”. But early in 2018 we changed our name to MMBR.IO. This is because there was increasing demand for us to provide a service to help artists and other creators receive donations from their supporters. In other words, we don't just offer a paywall anymore.

(As well, we use Stripe for all transactions. Stripe has also been around for a while and is one of the most trusted merchant service providers in the world.)

How do I sign up for Tango, Bravo or Foxtrot?

First, decide on which product is right for you—Tango, Bravo or Foxtrot. After that, it's easy. Just go to our sign-up page ; create your MMBR account (we'll need some basic banking information from you so we know where to deposit funds) and then choose the product you wish to use. That's it. After that, detailed step-by-step guides will make this quick and easy for you.

What countries do you offer payouts in?

MMBR.IO pays creators in 21+ countries. (We accept payments from everywhere.)

Australia Austria Belgium Canada Denmark Finland France Germany Hong Kong Ireland Japan Luxembourg Netherlands New Zealand Norway Singapore Spain Sweden Switzerland United Kingdom United States

Are Bravo, Tango and Foxtrot all available right now?

Yes, all three products are now available.

What is Echo?

Unfortunately, no one can be told what Echo is. You have to see it for yourself. (It's not ready yet but we'll keep you posted. And yes, it really is too awesome to tell you about right now.)

What should I do if I can't find an answer to a question?

If you can't find the answer to a question either on the Tango, Bravo or Foxtrot product pages or here on the FAQ page, you can go to our support page and you'll likely find it there. The support page is also where you can notify us of any issues you're experiencing. (Issues are rare but when we're notified of one we fix it very quickly.)

Bravo

What is Bravo?

Bravo is explained in detail here. But, long story short, Bravo helps anyone who wishes to easily receive online donations to do so. There is no need for a website because we offer a personalized campaign page for this purpose on MMBR.IO. (And if you do have a website, we provide you with an easy-to-use plug-in for it.) Whether you are an artist, podcaster, blogger, vlogger, writer, musician or creator of any kind and you wish to be able to receive donations, Bravo is for you.
(Bravo is available beginning August 1, 2018.)

How much does Bravo cost?

Bravo is free. Account creation, supporter management, the web plug-in and your personalized campaign page are all free. The only fees you'll ever pay are transaction fees on each donation. And for those, we charge just a 2% transaction fee—the lowest in the industry. (You'll also pay a small fee to Stripe, the merchant account provider. This is explained in more detail here .)

Is Bravo a crowd-funding service?

Bravo does offer crowd-funding, yes. But it offers much more capability than common crowd-funding services like Kickstarter or Indiegogo. With Bravo we manage recurring donations capabilities, member management, powerful reporting and integration with common services like MailChimp, Twitter, Facebook and so on. We also offer website integration capabilities, in case you have a website already and want to maintain your online identity.

Is Bravo similar to Patreon?

Bravo does offer all of the same capabilities as Patreon, yes. So, any Patreon customer could easily move to using Bravo and get all of the same services. But there are some important differences. First, we're far less expensive than Patreon. Second, we offer an optional website plug-in so that you don't have to rely solely on your MMBR.IO campaign page to receive donations—supporters can easily click a button and donate right from your website as well. Third, donations can be either one-time or recurring. (Patreon only supports recurring donations.) And finally, if your needs ever change and you decide that you'd like to begin charging one-time fees for events or on-going subscription fees, we offer you the ability to add Tango to your strategy.

How do I sign up for Bravo?

Just go to our sign-up page ; create your MMBR account (we'll need some basic banking information from you so we know where to deposit funds) and then from your MMBR account dashboard, simply choose the Bravo page to get started. That's it. After that, detailed step-by-step guides will make the rest of the setup quick and easy for you.

How will my supporters make donations?

Once your account has been created, you will be provided your own campaign page that you can personalize. Once you configure it, you will just provide that URL to your supporters. Optionally, if you have your own website, you can also add the Bravo plug-in to it and that will give your supporters an easy-to-use button that they can click on.
